After the Maharashtra ordeal, Chandrababu Naidu has been given a rousing welcome back home, as the TDP team that went (in vain) to visit the Babli project site arrived at Shamshabad airport at around 10pm on Tuesday night.
The contingent was apparently put through a gruelling bus ride without even being told the destination of the ride, before being
deceived and hauled off into a special aircraft to be flown to Hyderabad. The women party workers allege that they were misbehaved with by the Maharashtra police, and that their ornaments were snatched away.
Chandrababu Naidu and team proceeded to Care Hospital from the airport.
Naidu has called for a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue at the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, in protest against the Babli project. TDP MPs, MLAs and MLCs are set to take part in the dharna.
The Babli issue is believed to catapult Chandrababu Naidu
back to relevance, and even if it were purely a political gimmick ahead of the Telangana by-polls, its political effect cannot be brushed aside.
