The Telangana government has assigned the portfolios of Minority Welfare and Public Enterprises to newly appointed minister Mohammad Azharuddin.
Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao today issued orders designating Azharuddin to handle those portfolios, with the Governor's consent.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was handling the Public Enterprises portfolio, which has now been transferred to Azharuddin.
The government had allocated the portfolios of SC, ST, Minorities, Disabled and Elderly Welfare, as well as Transgender Empowerment, to Adluri Laxman, who had joined the Cabinet last June. The Minority Welfare portfolio has now been shifted from him to Azharuddin.
