Probe ASP Naveen Kumar's Suspension: T Advocates
Telangana advocates demand the cancellation of ASP Naveen Kumar's suspension orders; Naveen had, earlier, leveled allegations of ganja smuggling against an East Godavari SP.
Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, on Saturday, assured a delegation of the Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee that the department would conduct an impartial probe into the suspension of Rampachodavaram Assistant Superintendent of Police Naveen Kumar, who had leveled allegations of ganja smuggling against East Godavari Superintendent Of Police Trivikram Verma.
The Home Minister made this assurance when a delegation of the Telangana Advocates JAC met her, demanding the cancellation of Naveen Kumar's suspension orders. She said that the government has received a preliminary report over the allegations against Trivikram Verma, and that she would take action at an appropriate time.
Meanwhile, members of the Advocates JAC alleged that officials had suspended Naveen Kumar as he hails from the Telangana region; and demanded an impartial inquiry into the issue. They also informed the Home Minister that Naveen Kumar has been facing threats to his life. (INN)
