Asaduddin Owaisi Dares BJP To Conduct NRC In Mizoram, J&K
Owaisi alleged that the BJP was planning to fight the 2019 elections in an atmosphere of hate and communal discord in a desperate bid to retain power.

MIM leader and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday dared the BJP government at the Centre to conduct a survey under the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Mizoram and Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting on the occasion of the death anniversary of former MIM president Abdul Wahed Owaisi at Ahmed Nagar, Owaisi lambasted BJP chief Amit Shah for branding 40 lakh people excluded from the draft list of the NRC in Assam as infiltrators, and challenged the BJP government to take up the exercise in other states.
He also recalled media reports that the present Tripura CM was born in Bangladesh in 1971.
The MIM leader said that since the BJP came in power in 2014, there was an 86% increase in mob lynching, and that 96% of the victims were Muslims, who were killed on pretext of being cow lifters. It was stunning how the Prime Minister was keeping quiet continuously for months and years while Muslims were being targeted in the name of cow protection, he said.
He also said, "We won't stop growing our beards even if our throats are cut. It is the constitutional right of the Muslims. We will grow beards till you realize the truth."
Owaisi also alleged that the BJP was planning to fight the 2019 general elections in an atmosphere of hate and communal discord in a desperate bid to retain power.
Slamming the Congress, too, Owiasi said that when other Opposition parties had moved a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi demonstrated his confidence in the BJP by hugging Narendra Modi. "A fatwa would have been issued against me had I even shaken hands with Modi," he said.
"The two men hugged each other because they did not have anyone in their homes," the MIM leader quipped in a lighter vein.
The meeting was also addressed by MIM legislators, Telangana Waqf Board Member Nisar Hussain Hyder Aga and other religious scholars.
