A helicopter believed to be carrying Dorjee Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, has been missing since 9:55am today.
The chopper was called Pawan Hans, and the CM was flying from Tawang to Itanagar. He was supposed to have reached Itanagar at 11:30am. The last radio contact was reported to have been made over Sela Pass in Arunachal Pradesh.
4 officials were travelling with the CM in the chopper, besides 2 crew members.
A search team has been deployed to search for the missing helicopter.
The chopper had encountered bad weather during flight, and there is no type of communication with the helicopter at present. Neither is the chopper visible on radar, nor is there any radio contact.
This is the third helicopter to have got into trouble this month, and the second Pawan Hans aircraft (on 19 Apr, in Tawang, 17 people were killed when a Pawan Hans crashed) to have done so.
