Apropos to the
meeting between the Army authorities and the RWAs held on Sunday, the Army has clarified that the purpose of the meeting was to apprise the latter of the Army's reasons for curbing traffic, and that this objective was adequately achieved.
"As regards the issue of not allowing a large gathering to collect inside the venue, the Army is of the view that to make the meeting purposeful, it was necessary to confine the strength to the committee members of RWAs only as otherwise, it would have become a public rally," the Army said in a press release.
It was once again reiterated by the army authorities that as the case is sub-judice, they will abide by the orders of the High Court, and that no restrictions will be put on roads till the court's judgment has been announced. (INN)
