Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Chairman Y. Venkatram Reddy today slammed the allegations of corruption against him.
Reports that he was baised towards the "Reddy community" and against the backward classes (in the recent Group 2 exams, complaints were made that certain students belonging to the Reddy caste obtained a much higher score than BC/SC students) reached rancorous levels, forcing him to defend himself on Friday.
Reddy, speaking out for himself in a press conference, explained, "A person belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) sat with me through 10 days of interviews. Only 25 Reddys out of 310 prospective candidates were selected. The cases are not all from my board, but only I am being targeted," he argued.
The Group 1 and 2 marks lists were also displayed after the press conference.
