Congress MLA Gandra Venkatramana Reddy, on Thursday, asked the Congress High Command to fill the vacant posts in the Cabinet with MLAs from the Telangana region.
In a press statement at the Congress Legislature Party office, Gandra said that the induction of more ministers from the region will help ensure that Telangana receives sufficient funds from all departments.
However, he maintained that the Telangana leaders were not unhappy with the recent Cabinet expansion.
Although the Telangana MLAs were in favour of statehood for the region, they concurred on the importance adding more Telangana region MLAs to the Cabinet for developmental reasons to the region, he said.
He said that they agree that it can be done by maintaining regional balance in the state Cabinet. (INN)
