A meeting held between the two Telugu states on division of RTC properties ended without fruitful results.
The officials of the RTCs of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana met today to discuss the sharing of RTC properties. The APSRTC officials demanded a 58% share in the joint properties. However the Telangana officials agreed to offer shares in only Bus Bhavan. The AP officials did not agree to this, and demanded a voting on the division/sharing of joint properties.
The Telangana officers rejected that, and wanted to send two proposals to the Centre for its intervention in the sharing of joint RTC properties. Informed sources said that the APSRTC had prepared a de-merger plan showing 14 properties as headquarter properties, and that the TSRTC had also prepared a de-merger plan in tune with the clarification given by the Centre, and that the TSRTC officials wanted to send both plans to the Central government.
The APSRTC apparently did not agree for the same, and went ahead on voting without taking into consideration the views of the Telangana directors. The Telangana directors said that the board had no authority to pass any resolution against the Central government's clarification, and finally walked out of the board meeting.
