Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy on Monday admitted to injustice to AP's railway projects.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan after meeting Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana, the union minister said that several railway projects in the state have been delayed because of various factors.
However, he said that he would take immediate steps to hasten the completion of projects.
He also said that he would soon convene a meeting with the state's elected representatives to discuss these pending projects.
Kotla also claimed that the Congress would come back to power in the 2014 elections. He denied the presence of groupism in the state Congress, and said that all leaders were working unitedly to implement the welfare schemes of both the state and the central government.
Later, the union minister inaugurated the chamber of L Venkatswamy, Chairman of Legislative Committee on Scheduled Castes Welfare, in the Assembly premises.
Talking to media persons on the occasion, he said that the SC/ST Sub-Plan Bill was a great achievement by the Congress. Praising Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, he said that Reddy, under the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, has made Andhra Pradesh a "model state" in the empowerment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Kotla also said that the government was actively considering introducing sub-plans for minorities and backward classes.
Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikaramaka, ministers - S Sailajanath and Kondru Murali, government whip Rudraraju Padmaraju, MLC MS Prabhakar and others were also present on the occasion. (INN)
