Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Tuesday, called upon the officials of power utilities to not compromise on the 7-hour power supply to farmers.
Talking to media persons after participating as the chief guest in the Indiramma Baata at Deepagunta (Goppadu mandal) in Kurnool district, Kiran Kumar Reddy instructed power officials to supply 7 hours of quality power to farmers at any cost.
Reiterating that the government was taking all necessary steps to tide over the energy crisis in the state, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the government would solve the crisis within a week.
He also said that the government would fully pay the interest of farmers with bank loans of less than Rs. 1 lakh. He said that the government's decision would benefit about 95 lakh farmers in the state.
He also stated that the government would bear a 50% subsidy on farming tools purchased by farmers.
The Chief Minister said that the government would launch one or two regional study centres in each region exclusively for minorities. He also said that that salary enhancement for Imams and Mouzams would be considered. Top priority for minorities would be given during the implementation of housing and Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu schemes, he added.
Responding to the High Court's verdict on the local body elections, he said that the government was ready to conduct elections within 3 months as per the court's orders. He added that the government would reserve 50% of seats for women. (INN)
