Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader T Harish Rao, on Tuesday, ridiculed the Telugu Desam Party's manifesto wherein it (TDP) had promised that it will form a 'Nava Telangana' ('New Telangana').
Speaking to media personnel, Harish Rao said that Naidu's promise of 'Nava Telangana' was the joke of the millennium.
He said that the TDP had never been sincere towards the Telangana issue, and had, infact, created obstacles in its formation.
"However, after the bifurcation of the state, it (TDP) has been trying to gain votes from the Telangana people by luring them with attractive slogans like 'Nava Telangana'," said Harish Rao.
Harish Rao also condemned TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's promise of "free power". Recalling that Naidu had once stated that agriculture is not needed for the progress of a society, Harish Rao said that the TDP chief was trying to cheat farmers with the promise of free power.
He said that while Naidu had not provided anything for free while he had been in power, he is now trying to attract people's attention by offering freebies.
Predicting that the TDP will be totally eliminated from Telangana in the ensuing elections, he said that soon a "To-Let" board will be seen outside the NTR Trust Bhawan. (INN)
