Alleging that the municipal elections have been rigged, former MLA Pinelli Lakshmi Reddy created a ruckus at a polling station at Macharla, and broke the EVMs in protest.
Pinelli got agitated after he reportedly caught a person red-handed while that individual was voting illegally.
He questioned the officials about the activity and later lost control.
He also allegedly abused the polling staff and even threatened to kill them.
The police immediately intervened, and sent the former MLA out of the polling station.
On a complaint lodged by the polling staff, the local police also registered a case against him, and began their investigations.
The Election Commission also ordered a probe, and sought stern action against the miscreant responsible for the incident. (INN)
