Irate at the Cabinet rejig by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu where he offered minister posts to four YSR Congress Party MLAs, party chief and Leader Of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today complained to Governor E S L Narasimhan.
Jagan called on Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and submitted a letter of protest against the the Chandrababu Naidu government accusing it of violating democratic norms and Constitutional norms.
The act by Jagan might have caused embarrassment to the Governor, who himself administered oath to the ministers at Velagapudi on Sunday.
Jagan had lashed out at Naidu on Sunday for the Cabinet expansion and termed it as a black day. The YSRCP MLAs who got minister posts after switching loyalties to the ruling party are Adinarayana Reddy, Amarnath Reddy, Akhila Priya and Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao. These MLAs were officially still with the YSR Congress Party and had not resigned from their posts, but had gotten minister posts in utter violation of the Constitution, Jagan said in his letter.
The YSRCP supremo sought to khow how Chandrababu Naidu could offer cabinet posts to the defectors by "murdering" democracy. He urged the Governor to take steps against such practices and protect democracy in the state.
Those present with Jagan included MP Y V Subba Reddy, MLAs K Raghupathy and Balanagi Reddy, and YSRCP SC Cell president M Nagarjuna.
