State minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, on Friday, demanded that the Antony Committee visit the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to study people's reaction on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters, Ganta said that the Antony Committee should visit Vijayawada, Anantapur and Visakhapatnam to interact with the people there and understand the pulse of the ongoing Samaikyandhra agitation.
Describing the protests as a people's movement, he said that the agitation is being carried on without any political affiliations.
Ganta also said that Seemandhra ministers and legislators would consult Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana before making a representation to the Antony Committee. He also accused TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao of repeatedly hurting the sentiments of Seemandhra people through his provocative statements. (INN)
