Visit OU, KU: Jagga Reddy To Antony Committee

Government whip Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, on Monday, requested the high-powered Antony Committee to visit Osmania University and Kakatiya University to address the concerns of students who had participated in the Telangana agitation.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here, Jagga Reddy said that he wrote to the Antony Committee stating that several students of Osmania and Kakatiya varsities had sacrificed their lives for the cause of statehood for Telangana, and that therefore, the committee must interact with their families and ask the Centre to extend financial support to them.
Further, he said that the Antony Committee should also listen to the grievances of students who had lost precious academic time due to the prolonged Telangana agitation.
Jagga Reddy also appealed to people, especially students of the Seemandhra region, not to resort to extreme acts like suicides which would cause their families trouble.
The Sangareddy MLA also opined said that a resolution in the state Assembly is not required for the formation of Telangana, and that it can be done by directly introducing a Bill in the Parliament. (INN)
