Another Sensation In Gangster Nayeem's Case

The Special Investigation Team set up to probe the case has given a clean chit to all the 25 police personnel facing allegations in it.
Hyderabad | 3rd October 2020
In a sensational development in the gangster Nayeem (Mohammed Nayeemuddin) case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe it has given a clean chit to all the 25 police personnel facing allegations in the case.

It said that the officers didn't have any links with the gangster, including with any of the land settlements done by him, and that it was removing the names of the accused police officers from the case.

The chief of the SIT Nagi Reddy stated this in a reply to a letter written by the Forum for Good Governance.

It is a known fact that the SIT has filed more 175 chargesheets in the case. The names of police officers and prominent politicians figure in over 130 cases filed by the SIT.

Among the officers are two additional SPs and seven DSPs, 13 CIs and scores of head constables.

The SIT chief announced that he was giving a clean chit to all the accused police officers.

In response, the forum has lodged a complaint against the SIT, and demanded that the state government hand over the case to the CBI.
