TDP leader and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani today responded to the allegations made against him by the other leaders of his party, including former MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and MLA Buddha Venkanna.
Nani claimed that while others in his party may have issues and differences with him, he did not have any problems with any of his fellow party leaders.
"I have no problems with my fellow party leaders. My only concern is ensuring the victory of my party in the upcoming Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) elections. I will follow all the orders of the TDP leadership to ensure this. I am fighting to protect the interests of the BCs and minorities in the municipal elections, and will continue to do so," he said.
The MP added that he would readily quit from his post the moment party head Chandrababu Naidu asked him to do so. He also clarified that he was not responsible for the party's decision to field his daughter, Swetha, as the mayoral candidate in the VMC elections, claiming that the decision to do so was made by the TDP district leadership. He said that he would accept any punishment thought fit by the TDP high command if it decided to take action against him.
Nani then asked his critics to lodge a complaint against him with Naidu if they had a problem with his attitude. However, he immediately also went on to say that he himself would not make any complaints against any of his detractors within the TDP.
Nani was prompted to make this statement after several party leaders, including former MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and MLC Buddha Venkanna, made a series of allegations against him when the TDP's top brass decided to field Nani's daughter Swetha as its mayoral candidate for the upcoming Vijayawada Municipal Corporation elections
