5 Districts On Flood Alert
5 districts in the state are put on flood alert, after news is received that the Godavari is close to flooding.

As many as 5 districts have been put on flood-alert after news was received that there has been a steep rise in the levels of the Godavari river which touched 51.4 feet at Bhadrachalam on Friday afternoon.
While issuing a third warning signal, the state government had sent 2 National Disaster Response Force teams, comprising of 18 members each, to tackle any eventuality. Meanwhile, state Chief Secretary P K Mohanty reviewed the situation with senior officials, and directed the collectors of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam and East Godavari districts to be on alert. He also instructed them to plan, well in advance, rescue and relief measures for the areas that are most likely to be affected.
However, incessant rains for the fourth consecutive day have already caused immense damage in several villages across the state.
It has been reported that More than 20 people were caught in floods at different places in the North Telangana districts. Efforts are being made by the district administration of the respective districts to rescue them.
Meanwhile, crops spread across thousands of acres have been damaged. Bus services have also been affected in many districts.
The transport service between Hyderabad and Karimnagar has been suspended as a part of the road in the Karimnagar district has been washed away.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed the officials to take help from the Armed Forces, whenever and wherever required. He suggested that sufficient food grains, medicines and other essential items be kept ready to meet any eventuality. (INN)
