AP Municipal Elections Have 75% Polling
As many as 17,864 candidates were contesting in the municipalities, and another 3,343 candidates were testing their fortunes for the corporations.

Barring a few minor incidents of violence, the polling for 145 municipalities and 10 municipal corporations across Andhra Pradesh concluded peacefully on Sunday.
Amidst tight security, more than 75 per cent of over 95 lakh voters exercised their franchise to elect candidates for 3,990 wards in 145 municipalities, and 2,507 divisions in 10 municipal corporations in the Telangana and Seemandhra regions.
As many as 17,864 candidates were contesting in the municipalities, and another 3,343 candidates were testing their fortunes for the corporations.
A record 86% polling has been reported from the Prakasam district, followed by 79% in Visakhapatnam, 77% in Anantapur, 76.31% in Media, 76% in Chittoor, 75.5% in Mahabubnagar, and 74.41% in the Kadapa district.
The poll percentage was 62.67% for Kadapa municipality, 55% for Nizamabad, 67.62% for Kamareddy, 70.5% for Armoor and 73% for Bodhan. (INN)
