Brushing aside the TDP's claims as being false, YSRCP has said that it is winning "hands down" and that the results of the municipal elections will attest to this fact.
“We are the party that is on a winning streak, and there is no reason why we should resort to self-sponsored surveys to support our claims".
"It is always the party which is on the brink of defeat that will resort to such cheap tricks while, in reality, the people have always been on our side,” party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters on Monday.
"False surveys and false propaganda has been part of the TDP's tactics, and the party is scared of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's popularity", opined Ramachandraiah.
"Some independent agencies have conducted surveys which prove that the majority of people support YSRCP. We are not overwhelmed by the survey but we feel that we will get even more seats than what the psephologists have predicted," he added, making a prediction of his own.
Ramachandraiah also slammed TDP leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu for his unsavory remarks, and reminded the latter that it was he who had issued damaging statements against Naidu and his(Naidu's) Singapore trips.
"After changing sides from the Congress to the TDP, he has shifted loyalties, and is passing baseless allegations," Ramachandraiah claimed.
"TDP has been trying to align with one party or the other ever since 2009, and the result (of the elections) will be no different, whether or not it will form alliances with other parties this time around," he said. (INN)
