Tourism Minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar, on Tuesday, defended the 6 ministers to whom the Supreme Court had
served notices in connection with their role in issuance of 26 GOs which favoured Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and allegedly helped him accumulate wealth illegally.
Vasanth Kumar said that the state government was ready to go for any kind of discussion in the House about the 26 controversial GOs. Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Vasanth Kumar said that the ministers who were served notices would extend full cooperation to the probing agencies any investigation held against them.
Stating that the entire Cabinet would be collectively held responsible for the all GOs issued during tenure of former chief minister YSR, he alleged that the opposition, the TDP, was politicising the issue for mileage.
He complained that TDP MLAs were disrupting the House even though the government was responding favourably over the issue.
Condemning the TDP for projecting the government as "corrupt", he said the ministers would never tamper with evidence or influence witnesses.
"Unlike TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, the ministers would not move courts seeking stay orders," he said.
Former minister Gade Venkat Reddy said that the ministers were not afraid resigning, but that they would do so only if they were found guilty after an enquiry.
Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu, Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath, Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathapreddy, Health and Medical Education Kondru Muralimohan, MLC whip Rudraraju Padmaraju and Government whip D Srinivas were present in the press conference. (INN)
