Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy extended his greetings to Muslims in Andhra Pradesh, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
"I wish my Muslim brothers and sisters a happy and prosperous Id-ul-fitr. May Allah, the most beneficent and merciful, shower his blessings on them", he said.
In a message on Sunday, the CM said that the values preached by Prophet Mohammed are significant and relevant to every generation since time immemorial. He hoped that the festival would strengthen the bonds of love, compassion and mutual understanding among the people and bring new cheer and prosperity into their lives.
"The practice of fasting during Ramzan is a pathway towards the purity of soul in a healthy body. The holy month of Ramzan signifies the willpower of man to attain self-control over his mind and body, and stands a symbol of universal love, selfless service and spiritual maturity in the mainstream of life," the chief minister added.
The CM reiterated the Government's commitment to provide education to all Muslim children as a result of the budget for Minority Welfare having been hiked to Rs. 489 crore this year. (INN)
