The first budget session of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly is likely to start from August 16.
According to sources, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu will present the first budget of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh on August 18.
Unlike the 40-day-long budget sessions of united Andhra Pradesh, the duration of forthcoming budget session may be short.
It was on May 18 that Governor E S L Narasimhan approved the authorisation of the expenditure fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States for a period of 4 months from June 2. A budget of Rs 34,595 crores was approved for Andhra Pradesh, which included Rs. 28,626 crores as the revenue budget, while Rs 3,882 crores was the capital budget.
Similarly, a budget of Rs 26,516 crores was approved for Telangana. It included Rs 21,295 crores as the revenue budget, and Rs 3,046 crores as the capital budget. (INN)
