State Minister and Seemandhra Legislators Forum Convener S Sailajanath on Sunday accused the Centre for adopting "undemocratic means" to divide the Andhra Pradesh state.
Speaking to media persons here, Sailajanath said that the Centre was violating all norms and precedents that had been adopted in dividing other states in the country.
He added that it was improper for the Centre to go ahead with the formation of the Telangana state while ignoring the agitation launched by thousands of people in the Seemandhra region.
Sailajanath said that the Centre's stand was not in the interest of the country or democracy.
Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister Pithani Satyanarayana on Sunday claimed that all Seemandhra leaders including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy were committed towards the cause of Samaikyandhra.
Speaking to media persons separately, Pithani said that the ministers and Congress legislators would ensure that the Telangana resolution gets defeated in the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly. (INN)
