Ananthapur MLA Gurunath Reddy has resigned from his post, 8 days ahead of the central government's self-appointed deadline for resolving the Telangana issue.

Marking the first of several resignations expected to take place in protest against the seperation of Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapur MLA Gurunath Reddy has just tendered his resignation from his post, 8 days ahead of the central government's self-appointed deadline for resolving the Telangana issue.

Looks like leaders from the Seemandhra region have decided to be firm in their stance of not allowing the state to be divided.

Meanwhile, Seemandhra leaders seem to be divided on how to deal with the issue in the event of Telangana being granted statehood. While several MPs, MLAs and MLCs have resolved to go through with the resignations, the rest are willing to go along with the decision taken at the centre, whatever it may be.
