Amaravathi On Fast Track, Naidu Holds Review Meet
The AP Chief Minister reviewed the progress in building the State's new capital city Amaravathi, and asked officials to expedite the process.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the progress in building the State's new capital city Amaravathi today and asked the officials to maintain the current expeditious pace of development.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, Principal Secretary to CM Sai Prasad, CRDA Principal Secretary Ajay Jain, CRDA Commissioner Sreedhar, Capital City Development and Management Corporation Managing Director Lakshmi Parthasarathy.
The CRDA Commissioner informed the Chief Minister that they were holding a meeting with managers of star hotels and representatives of schools and colleges, and were in the process of identifying land to build hotels, hospitals and schools.
"A total of 39 hotels including the Taj, ITC and Novotel have come forward. We are also holding a meeting with hospital groups this month on the November 11," the Commissioner said.
Other officials also informed the Chief Minister that by December 31, 2017, all arterial and sub-arterial roads of 270 km would be completed with an estimate cost of 3,600 crores. In addition to this, 130 km of Collector roads would be laid.
Naidu urged officials to maintain quality standards while building roads. He told them that unlike in other cities, roads in Amaravathi should be built to resist natural calamities including cyclones, and prevent water from getting logged on them.
He also asked them to prioritize works in Amaravathi, and build bridges, dams and stormwater drains along its roads emulating international destinations.
The CM also asked officials to build a world class stadium where they could host national games by 2018.
