The Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to celebrate the 117th birthday of Alluri Sitaramaraju, a great freedom fighter from Andhra Pradesh, which falls on 4th July, 2014, as a State function.
In this connection, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that in recognition of the valuable services of Sitaramaraju during the freedom struggle in general and in uplifting the tribal community in particular, the AP government had taken the decision of celebrating his birthday as a State function every year hereon.
Earlier, S Prasada Raju, President of the "Alluri Sitarama Raju Smaraka Samithi", met the Chief Minister and thanked him for taking the decision of honouring the stalwart. (INN)
