BRS working president K T Rama Rao today participated in the birth anniversary celebrations of Dr B R Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that by drawing inspiration from Babasaheb Ambedkar and under the leadership of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao, the BRS had continued the Telangana struggle for 14 years by mobilising lakhs of people.
"Then, with the blessings of the people of Telangana, our government worked for ten years aspiring to Ambedkar's ideals. We set up 1,022 gurukuls with his idea that development comes with education, progress comes with development, and equality comes with progress. Lakhs of future Telangana citizens who came out of these schools are studying in many higher educational institutions today. When all of them come up in life, the inequalities in society will be removed. Also, the world's largest 125-feet statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar was installed by the BRS government. KCR said what we set up was not a statue but a revolution. It was also possible only for KCR to name the Secretariat after Babasaheb Ambedkar," KTR said.
"Babasaheb Ambedkar is everyone's man. Whatever programs the BRS government organized for the depressed classes, the tribal communities and the other weaker sections of society were all from Ambedkar's ideas. Ambedkar is the father of the modern Indian nation. There is a need to maintain the spirit of the Constitution for equality in society. People must understand the conspiracies of some parties to put the Constitution in jeopardy. All the people need to work together for Ambedkar's thoughts and his hopes," he said, and appealed to all people to move forward together in that direction.
