The war of words between the leaders of rival parties in the ongoing campaign for the upcoming GHMC elections is increasing with each passing day.
MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar traded vituperative charges at each other today.
It all started with Owaisi condemning the "surgical strike on Old City" statement of Bandi.
He also dared the BJP leaders to destroy the memorials of former PM P V Narasimha Rao and former CM N T Rama Rao, which he claimed were built upon land encroached from the Hussain Sagar, if they were really committed to clean the lake.
He said that the lake which was spread across 4,700 acres of land originally had now shrunk to just 700 acres.
He also told the BJP leader that the MIM knew how to teach a lesson to the BJP in the Assembly.
Responding to the criticism of Owaisi, Bandi also dared Owaisi to demolish the two memorials himself if he dared.
He said that former Narasimha Rao and NTR were icons for the Telugu people, and that BJP activists would demolish the party headquarters of the MIM the moment they attacked the memorials.
He also claimed that the TRS' script was being read in Darussalam (where the headquarters of the MIM are loacted).
