To pacify all the dissident and rebel leaders of Telangana who have not got party tickets in the state for the upcoming Assembly elections and convince them to withdraw from the election fray and extend their support to the party candidates, the AICC has constituted a committee.
The committee consists of Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanaswamy, Karnataka minister D K Siva Kumar and Puducherry minister Malladi Krishna Rao. They started by meeting former PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah and senior leader V Hanumantha Rao and taking their advice on how to tame the dissident and rebel leaders. The senior leaders made certain suggestions to the committee members during their meeting.
The committee members then met with some dissident party leaders today, including Palvai Sravanthi, who expected the ticket for the Munugodu Assembly seat but failed to get it. They urged Sravanthi to drop her plans of contesting as a rebel candidate from the constituency and assured of her a bright future in the party after it came to power.
Following this, Sravanthi announced that she had decided to not fight the elections as a rebel candidate and that she would work for the victory of the party candidate.
Party MLC from Nalgonda district Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has been fielded from the seat.
The committee members are scheduled to meet other dissident and rebel leaders of the party over the next couple of days. The members will ask them to work for the victory of the party while promising complete justice to them if the party forms the government in the state.
