"Accept Or Condemn Akbar's Speech"

PCC General Secretary G Niranjan on Monday ridiculed MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi's contention that the media has distorted the [allegedly anti-Hindu] speech of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi.

Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here, Niranjan said that the Hyderabad MP was neither defending Akbar's speech nor condemning it. He said Akbaruddin Owaisi speech had been shown live by their own mouthpiece 4TV and a report was also published in Etemaad Daily. However, he said, now Asaduddin Owaisi was trying to escape from the same by blaming the media.

Admitting that media distorts some political statements, Niranjan said that media never tried to spread communal hatred by misquoting the speeches made at the public meetings. Asking the MIM president to either accept and defend Akbaruddin Owaisi's speech or condemn his views, he said that MIM's dual policy would not be tolerated by the Muslim community anymore. He also accused the MIM of trying to exploit the sentiments of common Muslims. (INN)
