The ACB officials raided the residence of an Assistant Commercial Tax Officer in Jadcherla of Mahbubnagar district on credible information that the officer had allegedly amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
In the raid conducted on the residence of the ACTO Bathina Surender Goud, the ACB sleuths seized gold and silver articles besides a number of documents pertaining to lands and other properties, all adding up to about Rs. 6 crores.
The officers also simultaneously conducted searches in the houses of the relatives of the officer at seven places. Even the residence of the officer's son Srinivas Goud, working as a Sub-Inspector at Mathe Police Station in Suryapet of Nalgonda district, was raided, and the ACB officials seized many incriminating documents and a posh car.
Goud was arrested and produced before the ACB court in Hyderabad.
