The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway carried out a "Mega Fortress Ticket Checking" drive against ticketless travel, irregular travel and unbooked luggage at the Cherlapalli railway station.
The check was conducted on Thursday under the direct supervision of A Bharat Bhushan, Chief Commercial Manager, M Sarjan Rao, CCM / Passenger Marketing, G Laxminarayan, Chief Claims Officer, Ravi P Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and other senior officials of SCR.
An amount of Rs. 2.85 lakh was realized as fare and excess charge from 885 persons who were apprehended during the "Mega Fortress Check".
Out of the 885 persons apprehended, 572 persons were found traveling without ticket and 130 persons were found traveling irregularly and 185 cases of unbooked luggage were registered.
A total of 30 express trains and 10 passenger trains were thoroughly checked at the Cherlapalli station by involving 138 Ticket Checking Squad staff and 30 Railway Protection Force personnel.
The drive was conducted from 4am and continued up to 10pm on Thursday. (INN)
