85% Voting In Huzurnagar By-Election; Result On 24th
As many of 84.96% of the voters exercised their franchise in the Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, where voting took place today for its Assembly seat.
As many of 84.96% of the voters exercised their franchise in the Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, where voting took place today for its Assembly seat.
The by-election was necessitated following the resignation of TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy as MLA, after he was elected as Nalgonda MP.
Voting started in 302 polling stations in seven mandals at 7 am, and ended at 5 pm. As many as 28 candidates are there in the poll fray, including three women. The main contest is said to be between TRS candidate Saidi Reddy and Congress nominee Padmavati Reddy. The BJP's Kota Rama Rao and the TDP's Kiranmayi are also in the fray.
A total of 2,36,842 voters are there in the constituency - 1,20,427 women and 1,16,415 men.
The results of the election will be announced after the counting of the votes slated for October 24.
