Hyderabad authorities have set up 8 containment zones in the Vanasthalipuram area following nine members of three families testing positive for the deadly coronavirus.
The containment zones are HUDA Sainagar, Sushma Sainagar, Kamalanagar, the A, B type colonies near the Rythu Bazar, the Rythu Bazar - Saheb Nagar highway, SKD Nagar, Phase-1 Colony and Sachivalayam Nagar.
The authorities have also kept 169 families of the area under home quarantine.
The movement of traffic will be restricted from Monday morning in all the zones. There will also be strict rules imposed in and around the residences of the suspects.
LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy said that the authorities were completely shutting down the Rythu Bazar, fruit and other markets located in the containment zones.
He urged the residents of the containment zones to extend their support to the authorities.
