65 Tons Flowers Adorn 10,000 Bathukammas At Finale
A large number of women, girls and children prepared 10,000 Bathukammas at the Lal Bahadur Stadium today amid tight security, and then carried them to the Tank Bund.

A large number of women, girls and children prepared about 10,000 Bathukammas at the Lal Bahadur Stadium today amid tight security.
According to information, about 65 tons of flowers of myriad varieties, most of them marigold, were used for preparing the Bathukammas, and then carried them to the Tank Bund.
The event featured Telangana Jagruthi Chief and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha and Assembly Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy performing pujas to Bathukammas at 5:45 pm, and then playing Bathukamma at the stadium for some time. They then carried them out in a rally that headed towards Tank Bund to mark the mega event scheduled to begin there at 6:30 pm. Governor E S L Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao welcomed them at a stage on the Tank Bund.
Officials ensured that the people thronging the streets from L B Stadium from where tableaux and artists in large numbers started to the Tank Bund, moved in an orderly fashion. People were also given drinking water sachets free of cost. DCP Kamalasan Reddy reviewed and managed the security for the event.
