Minister for Animal Husbandry & Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Sunday said that there would be 350 Basthi Dawakhanas in the capital city by the end of this year to rid the respective localities of diseases and provide high quality and free medical services to the citizens.
Speaking at a pulse polio program, Yadav said that 256 Basthi Dawakhanas were already functioning in the city, and that 94 more would be established by the end of the year.
With these dispensaries, Telangana would turn an ideal for the country in healthcare, he claimed.
He added that apart from medical services being extended, medicines would also be given free of cost to the patients at the dawakhanas.
Medical tests for 57 kinds of diseases would be done free of cost in these dispensaries, he said, and added that the dispensaries would remain open in the evenings too, with expert doctors and technicians available.
MLC Vani Devi, MLA Mutha Gopal, the Hyderabad district Collector and corporators were also present at the program.
