The City Police, on Monday, arrested three offenders who were allegedly involved in several cases of chain snatching.
Addressing a press conference, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Punjagutta division) Venkata Narasaiah said that the accused - Shaik Mazhar, Syed Jaber and Mohd Sohai, aged 19-20 years - were involved in chain snatching offences for the last six months.
On a tip-off, Punjagutta inspector P Sataiah, along with his team, arrested the offenders and seized 31 tolas of stolen gold jewellery, worth about Rs. 9.50 lakh, from their possession.
Two motorcycles used for the offences have also been seized. The police are also looking for some more accused, who are absconding. (INN)
