23 Vizag TDP Members Resign
Citing the sudden and "unfair" suspension of his follower Peela Srinivasaa Rao as reason, 23 TDP members including 3 corporators tendered their resignations today.
A scuffle over garlanding NTR's statue in Vizag two days ago has led to a total of 24 TDP leaders resigning from their posts. While TDP district convenor Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu tendered his resignation yesterday, citing the sudden and "unfair" suspension of his follower Peela Srinivasa Rao as reason, 23 other members including 3 corporators followed in his footsteps today.
Even the news of Chandrababu Naidu having called Patrudu saying that he will reconsired suspending Peela did not deter them.
It may be mentioned that Srinivasa Rao was suspended over a scuffle between him Bandaru Satyanarayana two days ago, on the eve of late CM N T Ramarao's 17th death anniversary.
Chandrababu Naidu, who was not present at the celebrations owning to his padayatra in Nalgonda, was contacted by Balakrishna who suggested that Naidu suspend Peela, which Naidu did, with immediate effect.
Miffed at the fact that the party's president would suspend someone who had worked with TDP for decades without as much as a notice, Patrudu and his followers decided to show their displeasure by walking out of a party that "does not value the hard work put in by its cadre".
