17 of the 129 Indian students who were arrested in Farmington Hills University in the US have got much-needed relief in a local court.
The court allowed the students, all Telugus, to return to India before February 26, 2019.
Last week, too, two Indian students and one Palestinian student had been allowed to return, and that takes the number of the 129 arrested Indian students allowed to return, to 19.
About 110 of the 129 Indian students, 100 of them Telugus, are still in the US, either in detention centres or out on bail.
The final hearing in the case was held in February 12.
The American Telangana Association has urged the immigration department to make arrangements for the immediate return to India of these 17 released students. The students will have to inform the jail authorities in advance about their return to India paving the way for the jail authorities to transport them to the airport directly.
