Hyderabad | 16th June 2024
With the Central Crime Station (CCS), which is considered the heart of the Hyderabad police, facing a series of corruption allegations, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police K Sreenivasa Reddy today took a bold decision transferring 12 Inspectors working there and directing them to report before the IGP-2 immediately.
The transferred Inspectors are Siva Gouni Shiva Shankar, Raghu Babu K, Meesala Appala Naidu, Bukya Rajesh, Seetha Ramulu, Hussain Dharavath, G Satyam, Nageshwar Reddy C, Dharavath Krishna, K Satyanarayana, S A Emmanuel and B Kranthi Kumar.
These transfers come in the wake of the arrest of an Inspector from the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) at the CCS by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on June 13.
The EOW Team-7 Inspector Chamakuri Sudhakar was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from a complainant.
Similarly, ACB officials arrested ACP T S Umamaheswara Rao in a disproportionate assets case, on May 21.
The perception gaining ground is that due to a lack of supervision by senior officials the prestigious department is losing its reputation, and the people's trust in the department is gradually eroding. With this, the City Police Commissioner appears to have taken corrective measures and ordered the transfers of the 12 inspectors.
