Following allegations over the involvement of Ibrahimpatnam ACP S Malla Reddy in the murder of prominent businessman and NRI Chigurupati Jayaram, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat on Tuesday issued orders attaching the ACP to the Civil Police Lines Special Armed Reserve (CPL-SAR) in Amberpet.
C Gandhinarayana, ACP, Vanasthalipuram, has been given additional charge as ACP, Ibrahimpatnam.
Investigation revealed that some police officers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had been in touch with prime suspect Rakesh Reddy after the murder of Jayaram. It was also alleged that after the murder Reddy had contacted two police officials and sought help and guidance from them to shift the body.
Separately in Hyderabad, two police officers posted at the Saifabad traffic police station were transferred by city Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and attached to the City Armed Reserve Head Quarters. The officials - Inspector Gangaram and Sub-Inspector Chandrashekar Reddy - were asked to report to the Additional Commissioner of Police Headquarters.
