Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that 10 more Basthi Dawakhanas (street hospitals) would be started in the city.
There were 95 Basthi Dawakhanas in various places in the city currently, and the number would increase to 105 through the setting up of 10 more, the minister said.
The minister also said that there were 85 primary health centres in various locations in Hyderabad, and that plans were afoot to buttress them, too.
Yadav conducted a review meeting today with officials at his Masab Tank office on the functioning of the existing Basthi Dawakhanas. Speaking on the occasion, he instructed the officials to take all the steps needed to put in place 10 more street-level hospitals with all the necessary facilities. These hospitals would ensure complete healthcare facilities to the various local communities in the city, and the government was ready to spend adequate funds for them, he said.
