At least 10 passengers were injured when a private travels bus overturned on National Highway 65 at Durajpally in Suryapet district in the early hours on Thursday.

At least 10 passengers were injured when a private travels bus overturned on National Highway 65 at Durajpally in Suryapet district in the early hours on Thursday.

The condition of five injured is said to be critical.

The bus was going to Hyderabad from Visakhapatnam carrying 50 passengers. According to the victims, the bus started from Visakhapatnam at 7 pm on Wednesday and met with the accident at 4 am on Thursday. The passengers were asleep when the vehicle hit the road divider and overturned.

On being informed, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Area Hospital at Suryapet.

The mishap reportedly occurred due to the drowsiness of the driver of the bus. The Suryapet rural police registered a case and took up investigation.
