Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday stated that over 10,000 activists and leaders would attend the party's convention to be held at L B Stadium on December 16.
Talking to reporters, Botsa said that several issues concerning the state government would be discussed in the convention. He said that strategies to take the government's schemes to the doorsteps of people would be finalised.
"Several national leaders are likely to participate in the convention although they are yet to give their confirmation," he said.
Botsa also clarified that the Telangana issue would not be part of the convention's agenda as the Centre has already announced an all-party meeting on the statehood issue on December 28.
He said that he hoped that the Centre would find a permanent solution to the Telangana issue.
He also said that the party was yet to decide on the representatives to be sent for the all-party meeting in New Delhi.
However, the PCC chief said that the final decision on Telangana might be announced before the 2014 general elections. (INN)
