1,500-Bed Hospice Being Set Up At Gachibowli Stadium
1,500 beds are being set up on a war footing at the Gachibowli Stadium in the next 20 days to provide emergency services to coronavirus patients in Telangana.
Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajender today said that 1,500 beds would be set up at the Gachibowli Stadium in the next 20 days to provide emergency health services to coronavirus patients in the state.
Rajender inspected the works related to the quasi-hospital today. He instructed the officials to target building three floors in three days and another three floors in the next three days for the emergency services.
Talking to mediapersons later, the minister said that all necessary facilities like water for 3,000 people, central air-conditioning, quality food supply, staff to take care of the patients and maintain cleanliness, and temporary bathrooms would be available in the stadium.
He said that the facility may not even be required as adequate ICU wards and beds had already been put in place, but the state government was taking all possible precautions. He added that the facility would be permanent.
The minister warned rumour-mongers in the social media of severe action, and appealed to the people not to believe in such rumours.
