Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated a 102.3 MH 14th FM Radio station for Karimnagar district as a 'Sankranti' gift at the All India Radio station in Hyderabad.
Inaugurating the FM station, the CM expressed confidence that the radio would manage to retain its own identity despite various advanced technologies available. Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed optimism that the FM radio channel would provide entertainment and information to the people of the district.
The FM radio station is to cover a radius of 40 km of the district. The Chief Minister stated that he was keen to see that the AIR increased the coverage area so that the FM radio channel could cover the entire district soon.
Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar said that the district would benefit largely with the launching of the new FM radio station. He welcomed the channel and said that the people could now enjoy a variety of entertaining and informative programs.
Information and Public Relations Minister D K Aruna, Minister Mukesh Goud, Karimnagar District In-charge Doddila Sridhar Babu, MP G Vivek, senior BJP leader Vidyasagar Rao and AIR Chief Engineer R Vidyasagar Rao participated in the program.
