The BRS received another big shock today.
The party?s MP B B Patil today joined BJP ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He joined the BJP in the presence of Union minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar.
After the formation of a separate Telangana State, Patil had contested for an MP seat and was elected on behalf of the BRS party in the 2014 and the 2019 elections. He has however been staying away from the party after its defeat in the recent Assembly elections, and today even took a dig at the party in the presence of the Union minister.
It is known that on Thursday another BRS MP, Potuganti Ramulu, who is the MP for the Nagarkurnool constituency,
also left the party and joined the BJP.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Chugh, who is in charge of the BJP's Telangana affairs, said that ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections most of the top leaders of the BRS in the State were joining the BJP, and that the BRS would be hollowed out soon.
He also said that Patil had joined the BJP after being attracted to the policies of the party.
