YSRTP Revolts Against Sharmila, Expels Her From Party

The YSR Telangana Party founder, who decided to stay away from contesting the upcoming Telangana elections, has been kicked out by her own party leaders.

YSR Telangana Party founder and chief Y S Sharmila, who decided to stay away from contesting the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, has been kicked out by her own party leaders.

YSRTP leaders, led by Gattu Ramachandra Rao, met on Tuesday and announced that they were expelling Sharmila from the party, and that the YSRTP now belong to them.

The leaders raised slogans against Sharmila and termed her as a traitor of the party. They said that they had respected and trusted Sharmila as she was the daughter of former CM Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, but that they had been cheated by her.

They said that Sharmila had no place in Telangana society, and that Telangana did not need Sharmila's leadership.

Rao said that the future course of action of the party would be announced in two to three days.
